Marine Fire 550 is a pre-engineered piped fire suppression system for larger engine rooms and other compartments, using Dupont clean fire extinguishing agent FE-25 .

The Marine Fire 550 Design Concept: pre-engineered 550 series systems are balanced flow, modular configurations that are simple to design and easy to install. These systems minimize the engineering effort required to design a system by using a fixed series of nozzles and a pre-defined set of design criteria. As long as nozzle selection, pipe size and pipe length guidelines are adhered to, computerised hydraulic flow calculations are NOT required.

Marine Fire 550 systems have a pressure differential discharge valve and can be activated by any one or a combination of the following methods:

• Manual activation via cable pull
• Manual activation via push or strike actuator
• Pneumatic activation via pneumatic actuator
• utomatic activation via pneumatic control head and Heat Activated Device (HAD)
• Automatic activation via thermal actuator
